It is a great pleasure for us in Barcelona to be hosting the 2015 EAACI congress from the 6th to the 10th of June. But it is also a challenge: the standards have been set very high by the preceding EAACI congresses!
The core framework from which to build the congress is the Scientific Programme, which has been designed by the Scientific Committee, under the coordination of Edward Knol. The Local Organising Committee has added a touch of local flavour, in order to attract both those from near and far. Under the theme of the congress, “Allergy, new answers to old questions”, we will dissect the current knowledge in the field.
The venue will be the CCIB, where EAACI has already celebrated previous meetings. So we are acquainted with the facilities and we know that they offer the highest standards in terms of meeting halls and exhibition space. Very close to the venue, there are several hotels within walking distance, which will be able to host many of the congress delegates. Connection to the city centre and to the airport is easy both by public or private transport.
Barcelona is the liveliest Mediterranean city. It is multicultural, artistic, modern, historic... Barcelona is like an open air museum where you can enjoy the most amazing architecture, from the Modernist buildings to the old Gothic Quarter. Take your time, wander round, and stop to smell, to taste, to listen... If you already know the city, you will surely discover new wonders; if you don’t, you will never forget it.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Barcelona for the 2015 EAACI congress!

Dear EAACI friends,
On behalf of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology I am delighted to invite you to Barcelona for the EAACI Congress 2015.
The Annual Congress has long been a highlight for a wide range of medical professionals from around the world and this year’s meeting will be no different. The Scientific Programme will both enlighten and educate attendees with its diversity, detail and ability to cater to all audiences.
This year’s theme, “Allergy: New answers to old questions”, calls on us to look back at some of the problems this specialty has faced and, more importantly, asks us to shed new light and research on these issues. When faced with difficulties we often fall into a similar pattern of trying to find a meaningful and optimal solution that has worked in the past when, in fact, sometimes we need to change the way we approach a problem before attempting to solve it. Complacency has many sides and falling into the trap of administering the same action in similar situations results in us forgetting to find new solutions to long treated issues.
Of course, where better can we find a combination of the old and the new than in Barcelona. The Mediterranean city is itself a melting pot of contemporary design mixed with century-old architecture. Lively and welcoming, it oozes culture, style and harmony. The perfect canvas to learn and discover new answers to old questions.
Welcome to the EAACI Congress 2015
